Woodbriar of Wilmington and Windsor Place Assisted Living to Host Wellness Fair for Seniors

Free Screenings and Sound Advice Offered as a Community Service

 

WILMINGTON, Mass. – June 2009 – Woodbriar of Wilmington and Windsor Place Assisted Living will provide free medical screenings and consultations at a Seniors Wellness Fair on Tuesday, June 16 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. The event is part of a community education series and will be held at Woodbriar of Wilmington located at 92 West Street, Wilmington, Mass. “It is important that seniors have a baseline understanding of their overall health. The screenings conducted at the Windsor Place Assisted Living Seniors Wellness Fair can detect early indications of potential medical issues,” said Susan Jamieson, RN, MS, CS. Jamieson is a Geriatric Clinical Specialist who designed and will manage the Seniors Wellness Screenings.

Planned Seniors Wellness Screenings include:

  • Blood Pressure Check
  • Heart Rate Monitoring
  • Bone Density Measurement
  • Proper Body Mechanics
  • Blood Glucose Levels
  • Height and Weight
  • Basic Cognition Tests

 

Test results will be reviewed by Jamieson who will interpret and individually discuss the results with each attendee.
